Description :	L'autel et le retable néo-gothiques ont été peints de même que le mur auquel ils sont appuyés par Eugène Subert, artiste ligolien qui a signé son oeuvre de ses initiales. Le décor et notamment les nombreuses inscriptions de dévotion au Sacré-Coeur ont été conçus par l'abbé Louis Baranger, curé-doyen de Ligueil, qui en a donné la clef dans un petit opuscule. L'abbé Baranger avait fondé à Ligueil une confrérie intitulée Garde d'honneur du Sacré-Coeur de Jésus. Le retable est garni d'une grande statue de plâtre du Sacré-Coeur et de deux statuettes d'anges portant des luminaires.
