Précision_sur la representation :	La lumière provient de l'angle supérieur droit. Sur un chemin au premier plan un homme se tient debout en partie gauche. Derrière lui s'inscrit le départ d'un chemin. Les bras en avant, la main gauche tenant une canne, il est de profil et fait face à deux femmes debout en partie droite et présentées de trois quarts. Des rubans retiennent leurs chignons, leurs tuniques et leurs sandales évoquent les costumes de la Grèce antique. La première s'appuie sur un javelot. Légèrement en retrait, la femme qui se tient à sa droite la soutient par l'épaule gauche et le bras droit. A leurs pieds est représenté un chien. Dans l'angle inférieur droit une chèvre se tourne vers un troupeau de moutons couchés inscrit derrière elle. Au second plan en partie droite, au dessus du troupeau, deux bosquets encadrent un édicule de pierre. L'arrière-plan est constitué de collines boisées. S'y distinguent quelques peupliers. Le ciel nuageux laisse entrevoir à l'horizon des teintes rougeoyantes évoquant un coucher de soleil.
