Précision sur_l'état :	Le tableau a été restauré au début des années 2000. Son cadre, trop dégradé, n’a pu être conservé et a été remplacé par un nouveau cadre de bois doré. Récolement du 15/06/2018 : rien à signaler ; sécurisé par chaîne ; restauré en 2007-2008 par Faddoul Khallouf avec cadre neuf, réinstallé en 2009.
Précision sur l'inscription :	signature : Berthon (1831-1838)
Précision_sur la representation :	Saint Jean-Baptiste est debout de face au centre du tableau dont il occupe la quasi totalité de la hauteur. Son bras droit pointe le ciel, sa main gauche tient une coquille lui servant à baptiser. Son corps est partiellement couvert d'un tissu retenu sur le bras droit et retombant en oblique, laissant voir le modelé de son torse nu. En arrière plan on aperçoit en partie droite sur un plan d'eau plusieurs personnages dans une embarcation. En partie gauche se développe un paysage montagneux.
