Précision_sur la representation :	L'Enfant est allongé sur un tissu blanc, sur une mangeoire emplie de paille posée au centre de la scène. Il est nu, sa tête est légèrement redressée ; de lui émane la lumière qui éclaire la scène. La Vierge, exactement au centre du tableau, est agneouillée les mains croisées sur la poitrine. A sa gauche, légèrement en retrait, se place saint Joseph. A la gauche de saint Joseph la tête du boeuf surplombe l'extrémité de la mangeoire. En partie gauche se tiennent des bergers et des anges en adoration, dans des postures variées. Celui du premier plan, prosterné, occupe une grande partie de la surface du tableau. En partie droite un berger portant une cornemuse est debout, aux trois quarts de dos.
