Précision_sur la representation :	Une croix placée au centre du tableau occupe la totalité de la hauteur. Jean-Baptiste enfant en maintient le pied contre lui. Il est debout et vêtu d'une légère tunique blanche soulignant le modelé de son corps. Un ange ailé vêtu d'un ample manteau orange drapé sur une tunique est placé derrière lui et le soutient de la main droite. De l'autre côté de la croix la Vierge assise de profil porte un large manteau bleu laissant voir la manche de sa tunique rouge et une écharpe ocre jaune qui lui enveloppe la poitrine. Tête nue, les chevaux retenus sur la nuque, elle tient son fils nu sur les genoux. Ce-dernier tend les bras et se penche vers la croix et vers Jean-Baptiste. Dans l'angle supérieur droit du tableau est resprésenté une colombe qui s'inscrit sur un large rai de lumière doré émanant de l'angle et aboutissant au niveau de la tête du Christ et du centre de la croix.
